A conglomerate of American and Chinese companies have announced a joint project to build a 600 mega-watt wind farm in West Texas, using turbines made in China. The project which is estimated to cost 1.5 billion will be largely financed by Chinese banks. The United States government has also committed loan guarantees and cash grants to the development. Though construction and cost of the turbines seems possible because of Chinese endeavours, it is actually due to the openness of the Unites States to invest in the field of renewable energy. The wind farm will serve as an example of the United States commitment to producing clean energy; a commitment that has advanced considerably in recent years.
